BET Announces Culture’s Biggest Week: A Celebration of Black Excellence
BET has officially announced the return of Culture’s Biggest Week, promising to be the most powerful expression of Community, Culture, and Connection the brand has seen to date. This four-day extravaganza aims to celebrate Black excellence and shared experiences, showcasing voices, stories, and moments that define contemporary culture. At the heart of this celebration is the “BET Awards,” Culture’s Biggest Night, which will air live on Sunday, June 28, at the Peacock Theater, alongside BETX, an immersive experience that will transform Los Angeles from June 25–27.
A Commitment to the Community
More than just a marquee event, Culture’s Biggest Week represents BET’s unwavering commitment to the Black community. It creates spaces for gathering, celebration, and reflection, inviting everyone to come together to advance culture in a meaningful way. From honoring historic legacies to amplifying emerging voices, BET continues to be a vital presence at the center of culture, emphasizing that “BET is Something You Can Believe In.”
The Impact of the BET Awards
The “BET Awards” is not merely an awards show; it stands as one of the most influential stages in the entertainment industry. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the awards have consistently recognized artists, creators, and leaders who are shaping culture in real-time. Iconic performances and memorable tributes have marked the history of the show, delivering moments that resonate far beyond the stage. This year, as Culture’s Biggest Night, the ceremony promises to reflect the vibrancy and creativity of Black culture across diverse fields, including music, television, film, and sports.
Under the executive production of Connie Orlando, EVP of Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy, the event is brought to life by Jesse Collins Entertainment. He, along with fellow executive producers Dionne Harmon, Jeannae Rouzan-Clay, and Eric Cook, will ensure that this year’s show maintains its high standards of artistic excellence.
Engaging with the BET Experience (BETX)
Extending beyond the awards show, the BET Experience (BETX) aims to create a dynamic, immersive fan-first experience in Los Angeles. This three-day event will feature performances, celebrity panels, interactive activations, and cherished moments to foster connection within the community. Key highlights of BETX include:
- FanFest on June 26th and 27th, hosted at The Beehive, where fans can engage directly with music and culture.
- A Roots Picnic Experience: A Great Night in Hip Hop featuring The Roots and Nas on June 27th at the Hollywood Bowl Arena.
- An exciting BETX Celebrity Basketball Game, bringing athletes and stars together for a fun-filled competition.
According to Brian Rikuda, Executive Vice President of Enterprise Growth Strategy, Business Operations, and Programming Strategy at BET Media Group, BETX represents the ongoing commitment to invest in Black culture beyond the screen. By uniting artists, creators, and communities in Los Angeles, BETX is set to create meaningful experiences centered around the voices shaping this pivotal moment in time.
Collaboration with Live Nation Urban
The 2026 BET Experience will be co-produced by Live Nation Urban, further enhancing its reach and impact, providing fans across the country with exhilarating performances and interactive experiences.
